Courchevel 1650, called Moriond by the locals, is the next largest village, although it is more relaxed with its year round population.
1650 has magnificent views across to 1850 and 1550. From mid- December until the end of April, the whole area is transformed into a winter wonderland and a chic Alpine ski resort.
1650 is a perfect resort for everyone; there are all the facilities you would expect in a top quality ski resort with numerous hotels. There are great bars; Some of which are chilled, traditional, play live music, are small snack bars and some have pool tables. Restaurants; there are over 15 places to eat be it a bakery or an exquisite restaurant, shops and three excellent supermarkets selling everything needed for a super self catered holiday. There is even a cinema and a local church. Moreover, there are plenty activities to do besides skiing which children and adults can enjoy.
In 1650 these are: Courchevel Trails, Ice Karting, Cinema and a necessity is to visit the weekly Street Market, where stands full of local meats, cheeses, wines, olives and clothing are sold. The stalls are set up early in the morning of every Wednesday in the centre of the Village near the Tourist information office and are open until late evening.
